Rules: Arts and

all the students are expected to complete 100 hours of computer learning as per
the state government directive.
- B.A. / B.Com course
comprises of six semesters. There will be six papers of 50 marks each.
- For
the first year and second year, college examinations will be conducted for all
the faculties.
- The student is promoted to the second
year, provided she clears at least 10 out of 12 papers.
Home
Science - Home science course comprises six
semesters, which are to be completed in 3 years. By the end of these three years,
the student must complete courses worth 120 credits.
- 50%
weightage will be given to internal assessment and 50 % weightage to the semester
examination.
- A student is promoted to the next semester,
provided that the total number of credits in which she has failed does not exceed
8 in all.
- The students academic assessment
is based on her performance in 2 unit tests of 25 marks each and the final examination
of 50 marks held at the end of every semester.

CAREER
ORIENTED PROGRAMMES (UGC Sponsored and S.N.D.T. Womens University Approved) (Coordinator:

of Education and economy requires new programmes to make the current Indian Higher
Education System more relevant and career oriented, with focus on quality and
excellence. It is envisaged that professionally qualified graduates with a sound
knowledge of their core disciplines and expertise in a concerned skill will have
more openings in service, industry and self employment sector. To
meet this challenge, our institute has incorporated skill oriented and value added,
add-on courses to be adopted by students as a parallel sub-discipline while pursuing
their degree level education. The
courses offered are interdisciplinary in nature. There will be no watertight compartments
and the students will have the freedom to diversify into various fields not necessarily
related with their core discipline. For instance, a commerce student can opt for
a COP course in script writing and fashion designing along with a B. Com degree. This

GUIDANCE AND COUNSELING The
course will enable learners to be equipped with counseling at various levels.

schools and colleges, Recent trends, Psychology testing and Psychology of adjustment,
Vocational guidance, Education guidance, Guidance of exceptional children, Techniques
in guidance, Methods of Data Collection, Interview Techniques Counseling skills,
Goals of Counseling, Limitations of counseling.
TRAVEL AND TOURISM The
course aims to introduce skill enhancing, market oriented, employment facilitating
of self-employable career oriented exposure to travel and tourism. The course
covers basics of travel and tourism, Tourism Planning and Development, Tourism
Management and Marketing, Human skills in Tourism, Packages, Tours, National and
International Tourism, Computer Skills.
SCRIPT WRITING The
course trains students to write scripts for radio, film, video, multi media, www
and gaming. The student will learn the processes of creating finished scripts
that conforms to industry needs.
The course covers the Mass media, Basic elements of production, The play, Commercials
and announcements, Interviews and talk Programmes, Music variety and comedy, Corporate,
Educational and Children's Programme, Features and Documentaries, Introduction
to script writing, Visual writing, Dramatic Essentials, Narrative Screen Writing.
INTERIOR DESIGNING The
course will create an appropriate atmosphere for students to learn by way of action
principles of Interior Designing. The
course covers Objectives, Principles and Elements of design, Creating forms and
design, Drawing, Construction, General Theory and Material, Model making.
FASHION DESIGNING The
course will develop a sound attitude and interest regarding styles and patterns
of costumes and train the students in the skills of cutting and drafting. The
course covers all basic stitches, Seams, Pleats, Tucks, Frills, Patch Work, Pockets,
Neckline, Plackets, Smoking, Lace, Fagger, Zipper, FancyCross Strips, Drafting
of all varieties of garments and Illustrations.
ADVERTISING The
course aims to give the learner an understanding of the various facets of advertising
and gain an insight into the various aspects that go into advertising. The course
covers Introduction, Fundamentals of advertising business, Media for advertising,
construction of advertising, appeals in advertising.
NUTRITION, HEALTH AND FITNESS
MANAGEMENT The course aims
to make students understand the basics of nutrition, the modifications in nutrient
and dietary requirement for various diseases and plan suitable diets, and create
awareness regarding fitness so that they can get gainful employment in the booming
fitness industry. The
course covers Introduction to Nutrition science, Nutrients, RDA and balanced diet,
Nutritional management in health and diseases, Energy Balance and healthy body
weight, Essentials of Fitness and training, Role of nutritional supplements and

TAXATION The
