Association At the end of each academic year,
student representatives are democratically elected to represent the student body.
Elections are held after vigorous campaigning for the posts of Class Representatives
(CR) and General Secretaries (GS) of various faculties.
The student body coordinates with the President and Vice
President, who are represented by the Teaching Faculty, in the smooth functioning
of various activities organized by the college throughout the year and also of
maintaining discipline and cleanliness in the campus. National
Service Scheme (N.S.S.) - This scheme, sponsored
by the Government aims to instill a feeling of social concern for the under-privileged
and handicapped people. It trains students toward responsible and responsive leadership.
- The N.S.S. Unit of the college has been very active
since 1974. Students from Junior and Senior College are eligible for enrolment.
- N. S. S. Volunteer has to complete 120 hours of
service in a year.
- The projects, which our volunteers
will require to work, are the Rajawadi Municipal Hospital, Mankhurd Childrens
Home and Pratham Balwadis.
National
Cadet Corps (N.C.C.) - The
college encourages students to participate in N.C.C. activities as it helps them
to develop strength, tenacity, responsibility and courage.
- Students
from Junior and Senior Colleges are eligible for enrolment.
- Interested
students should be physically fit & have a minimum height of 5.5.
- Our
students have had the honor to represent the University at the Republic Day Parade
in New Delhi and Youth Exchange Programme at England.
- Our
student has bagged the National Championship for Rifle Shooting.
- We
have been adjudged the Best N.C.C Unit at the state level in the year 2000-2001.
- From all over India, our student was selected as Junior
Captain at Republic Day Parade in January 2006.
- Our
student was selected to represent India at the Commonwealth meet.
Right to Information Cell This
cell was started last year to create awareness among the students on their rights
as citizens, to information regarding the functioning various public services
and government agencies Rotaract Club Under
the patronage of Rotary Club of Ghatkopar and the Inner Wheel Club of Mumbai,
the Rotaract Club of the college organises various community service activities.
The club infuses pride and purpose in the minds of its young members. Cultural
Activities - Our
students participate in various cultural programmes like dance, drama, music,
poetry recitation, etc. at Inter College Arts, University and State level competitions.
We have won many prizes in these competitions.
- Utsav,
a five-day cultural extravaganza organised by our college is a popular, annual
event where various inter-college competitions are organised along with an exhibition
and Fun Fair. The college Day is also a part of these celebrations.
AIDS
Committee This committee was formed to spearhead
and streamline the various AIDS activities, which the college has undertaken in
the community. The committee disseminates information and dispels myths about
AIDS. Literary Activities - Every
year, we organise various literary events in our college and encourage students
to participate in outside literary events like debates, elocution, essay writing
etc. in English, Gujarati, Hindi and Marathi.
- We
also hold seminars and poetry recitation workshops for students in these languages.
Sports - We
have special coaching for kho-kho, kabaddi, basketball and volleyball for our
Junior and Senior College students.
- Every year
we have a sports and athletics meet where we award championship trophies to students
who excel in sports.
- Our students have participated
at state and inter-college level competition and brought home several trophies.
- Many of our students have been selected to represent the
University team.
Population
Education Club It conducts programmes like debates,
study-trips, seminars & community workshops throughout the year to raise student's
awareness to the rising population levels of the country and its impact. The club
also organises shibirs and seminars on environment and ecology. Top
